Daniel decided that Catherine's play gym wasn't cool enough. Here it is all tricked out..... I like the addition of all the beads!

Meet Lorisa

This is Lorisa, the name Daniel gave himself as he put on multiple link-toys as bracelets. Don't ask me where the name came from.....

Dental Visit

Daniel had his first dental appointment this morning. He was such a champ! He sat in the big chair all by himself, opened his mouth like an alligator when asked to, and didn't cry during any part of it! Hooray for him! He was so excited to receive his own dental kit with a toothbrush, floss, and toothpaste. The only hard part was the lecture from the dentist regarding his thumb sucking. When we got home, he told me, "I haven't decided yet about giving up my thumb."

2 Months Old

Catherine had her 2-month check-up today. She weighed 10 lbs (24th %ile), measured 21.5 inches long (16th %ile), and her head circumference was 15.5 inches (60th %ile). She had one oral vaccine and three shots. Our pediatrician listened to her noisy breathing (due to laryngomalacia) some more and said she thought it might go away by 6 months. I hope so! I'm tired of all the strangers saying, "She sure sounds congested..." as if I'm not taking care of some terrible cold she has! If you haven't had the chance to meet our precious girl, she sounds like a cross between a goose and a pig when she breathes. Lovely!

Catherine has changed a lot this month. She is so much more alert than she was at one-month old. I don't have to wake her up to feed her any longer. She still likes to sleep though, and has had a handful of nights where she's only woken up once. She even slept through the night one time! She recently (within the last week) started smiling and cooing a lot more. She had only done those things sporadically earlier in the month. Her favorite thing to do is take a warm bath, and she typically cries when I take her out. She doesn't seem to like too much stimulation and can get overwhelmed after busy days, needing quiet time in the tub to regroup!

Meeting Henry

Here are some pics from our quick trip to Amarillo. We only stayed one night because I was by myself with these two crazy kids! It was so much fun to meet our newest nephew, Henry (born 1-28). Too bad Bryson wasn't there to join the fun! Heather and I even made a trip to Cracker Barrel with the three kids! Catherine and Daniel were troopers, and I think Catherine helped my brother and sister-in-law feel better about Henry's crying because she screamed her head off for awhile that night! Don't you love Catherine's face in this first pic? It's like she's thinking, "Why is this kid always around?!"

Green with Envy

A few days ago Daniel stubbed his toe while getting into his booster seat at the table. He started crying, I gave it a kiss (yes, on his toe), he settled down ,and he proceeded to smack his head on the table when he turned around. I said, "You sure are having a rough day!" Then Catherine started wailing from my arms, and I looked at her and said, "I know. You're having a rough day too!" Daniel put on his meanest, poutiest face and said (with total sincerity), "I don't want Catherine to have a rough day. I want to be the only one who gets a rough day."

Talk about jealousy!
